Congratulations to Heather Williams PT, DPT on being a guest lecturer at Hospital for Special
Surgery's
Professional Edication course, Treating the MultiSport & Endurance Athlete. Heather's
topic
was Prevention & Treatment of Common Running Injuries. She spoke extensively on common
training errors runners commit, the injuries they lead to, and how to prevent them from occuring by
incorporating running-specific strength and plyometric training. There were over 175 attendees in
addition to 65 online participants. Thanks to Karen Juliano, PT and the entire professional education
staff at HSS for coordinating this oustanding event and for making Northport Physical Therapy and
Sports Performance a part of it.

                      Hospital for Special Surgery's, 13th Annual Sports Medicine for the  
                      
Young Athlete. Greg spoke with Mickey Levinson, Team Physical Therapist   
                      
for the NY Mets, on Adolescent Throwing Programs and breaking down pitching
mechanics. The entire course was a tremendous success with over 200 participants.

Heather Williams was the featured speaker at the Tuesday evening, Feb. 15 Open General
Meeting of the Greater Long Island Running Club (GLIRC). Heather's presentation focused on  why
runners get injured and how to prevent running injuries.

2010 Great Cow Harbor 10-Kilometer Run: Congratulations to all runners who                   
participated in the 33rd Annual Cow Harbor 10K and to our very own
Heather Williams and Monica
Schoeps
, who both ran outstanding races. Heather was the 14th woman overall and  1st in her age
group with a time of 39:08.

Our own Heather Williams wins the Women's 10K Run at the 38th Long Island Marathon and
"Festival of Races" Newsday- "Women's 10-kilometer champion, Heather Williams, 34, of
Centerport is a physical therapist at
Northport Physical Therapy.
A former collegiate runner at Auburn, the Florida native is married to a Long Island native and was
running in the "festival of races" for the first time.
