Osteoporosis Exercise Classes:
Osteoporosis is a major health threat to 44 million Americans. Most of those diagnosed with osteoporosis are women. Osteoporosis literally means "porous bones." It is
characterized by a loss in bone quantity and a decrease in the quality of the bone that causes the bone to weaken, leaving them more susceptible to fractures.
You can take steps to both prevent osteoporosis and live with it if you have it, protecting yourself against fracture and injury. Exercise plays a vital role in the prevention and
treatment of osteoporosis. Weight bearing and resistance exercises in particular are important for building and maintaining bone mass and density.
